Slovenia is an alpine country that like its neighbors, Italy and Austria, offers numerous possibilities for skiing and winter sport holidays and experiences. The winter season in Slovenia begins in December in the period before the Christmas and New Year’s fairs and holidays and lasts until the end of March.  Given that Slovenia is located in the eastern part of the European Alps and covers the Julian Alps, the Karavanke Mountains, the Kamniške-Savinjske Alps, and Pohorje, we are speaking about amountainous country where diverse ski slopes spread above winter sport centres at altitudes of around 1,500 meters above sea level.

Slovenia’s  diverse and interesting skiing areas are adapted to the configuration of slopes from high-mountain areas over 2,000 meters above sea level to those whose altitude is only 400 meters.
